I have decided to change my blog and steer away from using our name. I don't know why really, just decided I would be more comfortable if I didn't use our last name. I'm going to keep doing the same thing I've been doing and I've imported all of these posts. I'll be deleting this blog soon so I really hope my followers will switch over and follow my new blog!!

Picture Overload!

We are finally back from Vegas! We had a BLAST! We were only there for 2 nights but that was more than enough. We stayed at New York New York which I actually wasn't too impressed with. I like the casino but I didn't really care for the hotel. It's kind of dated and not very "Vegas-like" lol, whatever that means. We went to a piano bar one night and had a blast there and pretty much gambled the whole first day. The weather was absolutely beautiful...75ish and sunny! Here are a few pictures (from my point & shoot).

Little Man stayed with Grandma and Papa while we were gone. I missed him like crazy! He was super excited to see me in the morning when he woke up though :) He was all giddy and jumped up for me to grab him out of his crib. I took these right before I left.









Oh and as a nice little welcome home treat, Connor is saying "mamama, mama, mama, mamama" over and over and I LOVE IT!! I know he's not talking to me but it doesn't matter. Hearing it come out of his mouth is awesome.

"Talking"

Until now, Connor has only done the baby ooh's and ahh's, never any consonants. Yesterday he started saying "babab, bubub" over and over again. If I say "Bubba" he smiles and says "bubba" :) I don't know if he is purposely mocking what I say or if its just a coinsidence but he does it most of the time. I tried to get it on video but he ignored me and wanted to play with the camera. I love it!

He loves this truck but he always tries to climb OVER it instead of just crawling around it and he gets stuck every time! He tries for a minute or so and then he's mad and wants you to help him. If I just stand him up, he leans right back down to try and climb over it again. I feel bad because I know he's frustrated but I just can't help but laugh!

Attempting to get 9 Month pictures

Today was my 3rd attempt at doing Connor's 9 month pictures. He's such a little busy body, I can never get a decent picture. I was actually pretty pleased with the few that I got today though :)










The focus is a little off in this one but he still looks cute as a button so I dont care ;)

9 Months Old

Little Man is 9 months old today and I can't believe it. He is getting so big so fast! He is developing such a little personality and it's hilarious to watch. Let's see..lately he has started the whole shaking this I posted a few days ago. It's funny but can be irritating at the same time (he likes to shake things that aren't sturdy). He runs away from you when you try to stop him from doing something he shouldn't be (I may have posted about that too) or take something he shouldn't hav away from him. He cruises all over the house and absolutely loves opening cabinets. He doesn't usually take anything out, just opens and closes them 1000 times.

He is a GREAT eater but has recently decided he doesn't really care for purees anymore. He usually fusses throught them. If I put finger foods in front of him, he eats them without a problem. He would much rather do it himself.

He no longer sleeps through the night (ugh). He has 3 teeth trying to come through on the top and they are just driving him crazy. He is usually up twice throughout the night (between 2 and 3am and then again between 4 and 5am). His new wake-up time for the day is 6am (if I'm lucky, 630). I'm hoping with the time change coming up this weekend, he'll sleep a little later. That would be wonderful!!

He hasn't been to the doctor yet so I don't know his weight/height but he's still wearing mostly 6 months clothes (6-12 in Old Navy pants because 6-9 just isn't long enough) and the few things he can wear in 9 months are only because 6 months pants are always too short.

It's been a fun month. I love how busy he is and I love the little boy he is turning into. I can't wait to see what new things he learns over the next month :)

Shake it

In the last few weeks, Connor has decided he likes to shake everything! He pulls himself up to things and then shakes them with both hands. He does it to his music table, the couch, the baby gate, his crib, my leg, shopping carts, everything. It's so funny. In the last few days he has realized what "shake it" means and he starts to shake it. It's the first...I dont want to say command, lol, but that's kind of what it is. I call it his first "trick" when I tell family about it. I mean sure he'll appreciate that when he's older, ha. ;)



Ignore the fact that he's not wearing any pants. He was playing with his bottle and it leaked all over his pants.

*I just want to add that I played the video once I posted to make sure it worked and while it was playing, I looked over at Connor and he was "shakin' it" on his music table :)

Yay for Spring!

It got up to 50 degrees today and it was amazing!! We went out for breakfast this morning (Connor ate almost a whole pancake by himself..piglet) and then went to the park and let Connor swing for the first time. When I was putting him in, he fussed so I wasn't sure how he would like it but as soon as I let him go, his face lit up. He absolutely LOVED it! I can't wait to take him back all the time this spring/summer! Be prepared for a million swing pictures :)

Crazy Baby

In the last few days, Connor has decided he loves this blanket! If it is in the middle of the floor, he will crawl over to it super fast, bury his face in it, squeal, talk to it, he just goes crazy. It's hilarious! He is developing such a fun/silly personality, its amazing to watch. He has started this thing where he'll find something on the floor, the teeniest, tiniest thing (lint, piece of paper..) and he'll pick it up, I'll say "no, no, no" and then I'll walk towards him to get it. As soon as I get up and walk his way, he smiles and turns and crawls away from me. He'll do the same thing if he starts to crawl out of the room. He'll turn to look at me, I'll walk towards him saying "I'm gonna get you" and he turns to crawl away. If I get quiet, he stops again to look at me. When he sees me coming, he "runs" away. It's too funny. He's just getting so big, I can't even believe it!

Tripod and Wireless Remote

Pat bought me a tripod and a wireless remote for Valentine's Day (yay!) so I tested it out yesterday. I had a little bit of a hard time getting us centered but I think they turned out pretty good. Connor was fussy and not interested at all so I only got a few before he had had enough. These are the first pictures we have taken together since christmas! I really need to be better about having Pat take more. I only have a handful of us together since he's been born. Anyway, here was the outcome of our little mini photo shoot in the living room :)

Cruisin'

Connor is all over the place these days. He cruises all over the apartment, exploring everything. Unfortunately, the way this place it set up, there is nowhere to put a baby gate to keep him where I can see him so I have resorted to using a big suitcase to block him in the living room, lol.






He is ALL OVER THE PLACE!!


He has started doing a few silly new things lately. He likes to climb up things (mostly things he shouldn't) and then he shakes them. He does it in carts too. Its funny except for when it's a TV tray sitting next to the couch with a drink on it! He also loves opening and closing cabinets (and often taking everything out in between). If he is allowed out of the living room, he goes straight to the kitchen to open cabinets.

Today he started lifting his right arm up in the air with his hand dangling...kind of like he's waiting for someone to kiss his hand, lol. He did it to the dog this morning and then he did it again to my brother tonight. I'm not sure if he's trying to wave, or point, or if he's just being a goofball but it's super cute. He is also working on 3 teeth on top, maybe 4, and they are making him quite miserable. Hopefully they break soon and give him some relief. Oh, and he has mastered finger foods. We are doing real meals twice a day now. Pancakes, french toast of toast from brunch with fruit puree for "brunch" and then steamed veggies cut into pieces with stage 3 food for dinner. He's such a big boy :)

Lovin' on Daddy

Connor has always loved his Daddy, but in the last few weeks, he just can't get enough of him. Unfortunately, Pat works a lot so they only get to spend time together on the weekends, but that's fine with Connor. His face lights up when Daddy walks in the room and no one can make him laugh like Pat does. I caught a few moments of them being silly today and these pictures bring tears to my eyes. As cheesy as it sounds, you can just see the love in these pictures. I love these 2 boys more than anything ;)

Green Beans

We tried to give Connor some cut up green beans last night and he was NOT a fan. I figured I should just stick with it for a few days until he gets used to the texture. I gave him some for lunch today and it's hilarious how he changed from the first few bites, until the end (he ate everything in front of him).

Clearly he is loving finger foods these days. I think he is actually losing interest in his purees, even though he still gets them twice a day. He has been fussing through them lately and would much rather feed himself finger food. Such a big boy!

* Oh and can I add that both of these videos are from the SAME meal!! Crazy baby!

365 Blog Struggle

I am realizing that taking a picture a day isnt that hard, but uploading everyday is quite the challenge. Our desktop is in Connor's room (unfortunately we're in a 2 bedroom with nowhere else to put it) and the best times to upload are when he's napping, but of course that would wake him up. Our laptop actually belongs to Pat's work so I can't upload all of our personal pictures on here along with Photoshop. I really do like this challenge though so I'm going to stick with it. Even if that means uploading every few days, as long as I'm taking pictures. :)

Yogurt Melts

I gave Connor yogurt melts for the first time yesterday and he really like them. He also had the apple wagon wheels and I swear he would have eaten the entire can if I let him.

I edited this one using a few different things in Photoshop that I've never done and I'm happy with the outcome. Although I'm sure in a few weeks when I've learned something new, I realize this is not how things should be edited and it will no longer look as awesome as I think it does, lol!

8 Months Old

Connor getting older is bittersweet. Although I love watching him get bigger and learn new things, it makes me a little sad at the same time. Everyone always tells you to cherish them as newborns, but I think when its your first, you are kind of always looking forward to that next step they'll take. I think the next time around, I will absolutely savor those first few months. Even though Connor is still young, I feel like he's all grown up. Lol, I know that's silly and there are still TONS of new things he'll do, I just feel a little sad that he's leaning for towards a toddler than he is a baby anymore.

Anyway, enough sappy stuff. Let's see..Connor is crawling and pulling up to furniture (and everything else) like nobody's business. He walks along furniture to get where he wants to go and in the last week or so, has learned how to get back into crawling position from standing (instead of just belly flopping like he was). He is eating all kinds of foods and loves it. He nibbles most things that I eat and has yet to refuse anything. He still loves his purees but I feel like he is seeming less interested in bottles. He would much rather be "eating" something. He is still sleeping through the night, although for the last week, he seems to think its fun to wake up at 5 and whine until 6-630. For the past few weeks, he has been IN LOVE with his Daddy. He has always loved him, but lately when Pat walks out of a room, he screams. And if he walks into a room when Connor hasn't seen him in a few hours, his face lights up and lets out this excited gasp. It is SO sweet. He sees mommy too much, lol, he never does that for me. He absolutely loves Diego and anytime he hears the opening to Reba, his face lights up, he whips his head around to look at the TV and then looks at me until I sing it to him. The second the song it over, he goes back to whatever he was doing. These days he is pretty much eating everything, getting into everything, and is all over the place. It's fun and exhausting all at the same time. :)

A Day in Chicago

Pat had some work to do at the office yesterday so Connor and I went with him, for something to do. We took the train up, walked to the office, had lunch, and did some shopping. It was so much fun. It was 25 degrees out so I was worried bout Connor getting cold but I think he was fine. I put him in pajama pants, jeans, long sleeved onesie, hoodie, and a hat. Then i put him in the stroller with 2 big blankets and moved the canopy to block the wind. He fell asleep a few minutes after we started walking (about a 20 min walk) and when I took him out of the stroller when we got to the office, he was sweaty. Ha, at least he wasn't cold.

This afternoon I was sitting on the couch eating and of couse all 3 of my little "beggers" came up looking for some grub. We thought it was hilarious so Pat took a picture. Ignore all the junk sitting next to me on the couch. I was doing laundry and opening the Sunday ads.
